Automotive supplier Continental buys the Munich-based startup Parking pocketThe Hanover-based DAX-listed company wants to become active throughout Europe with the smart parking app.
Parkpocket was founded in Munich in 2013. The app displays available parking spaces and the corresponding parking fees. Founders Stefan Bader, Dr. Karoline Bader, Marius Schneider, and Benedikt Bergander will remain on board even after the company's exit. CEO Stefan Bader says:
"We are happy to now be part of the Continental family. With the agility of a startup and Continental's global reach, we are confident we can achieve our ambitious goals."
Good year for Wayra
Dr. Johanna Braun, Director at Wayra Germany, comments on the deal:
“The Parkpocket team has made significant progress in smart parking.”
Wayra joined the startup at the end of 2014 and supported it thereafter. This is the third exit in Munich for the Telefónica Incubator this year. Relayr acquired the AI startup Neokami in spring. In June, Verve the Munich push marketing startup matchinguu.
Meanwhile, Braun announces further investments:
