Restructuring completed: Regiondo now a pure technology provider

Regiondo began in 2011 as an online marketplace for leisure activities. After a gradual reorientation, the Munich-based company is now a pure B2B provider.

The company started as an intermediary between consumers and leisure activities, says Managing Director  Oliver Nutzel:

“At the beginning, we wanted to show end customers what they can do in their region and how easy it is to book leisure activities.”

However, in contact with the leisure providers, the startup realized that they needed a technical booking solution:

“The innovative booking technology we developed enables such a smooth booking process in the tour and activity business.”

Instead of pursuing the development of its own consumer brand, Regiondo announced about two years ago, to make its technological solution available to other providers in the future. This restructuring is now complete. A new branding also reflects this development externally.

International expansion targeted

The startup can be quite satisfied with the results of the pivot. This year alone, the Munich-based company has already recorded growth of over 300 percent, revenue is in the eight-digit range, and its core markets of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland are already profitable. Further plans are already in place, according to Nützel:

“We are currently implementing further steps for international expansion.”

Regiondo already counts the voucher provider Jochen Schweizer and the largest amusement parks in Germany and Austria among its partners.
