For 20 years, the Stadtsparkasse München has been awarding the “Munich Founders’ Prize.” The 2017 winners were honored yesterday: flissade GmbH, which designs avant-garde spatial concepts, and the myChipsBox GmbH, which impresses in the premium snack sector.
The Stadtsparkasse München (Munich Savings Bank) awarded the "Munich Founders' Prize 2017" to Lisbeth Fischbacher and Daniel Hoheneder for the flissade GmbH, and to Ebru and Erol Kaynak for the myChipsBox GmbH. Their business concepts could hardly be more different, yet both founding teams impressed with their innovative ideas.
Award-winning: An innovative space and room concept
The flissade GmbH impressed the jury with its smart concept for space-efficient living. Movable building shells allow living spaces to be used either as balconies or as valuable interior space. The jury's reasoning for the decision—particularly from a Munich perspective—is extremely plausible:
“Especially in our times when living space is becoming increasingly scarce, flissade offers a new perspective for living in the future.
The two managing directors, Ms. Fischbacher and Mr. Hoheneder, have a high level of expertise and form a highly qualified founding team – the founding idea originated at the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University of Munich."

Just last week, flissade had the Bavarian Founders' Prize won in the “Concept” category.
Convincing throughout: Delicious chips and a competent founding team
The two founders of myChipsbox were also honored. With their vegan and gluten-free chips, free of artificial flavors and flavor enhancers, the founding couple is setting a contemporary trend in the snack sector.
With “Biosnacking,” the young company had already successfully found an investor on “The Lion’s Den” — and myChipsBox also took undisputed first place in the Süddeutsche Zeitung’s chip test.

The jury of the Stadtsparkassen München says:
"The founding team is optimally positioned. Ms. Kaynak, as a food technologist, ensures the highest quality standards, while Mr. Kaynak, as a business graduate, is responsible for finance, controlling, and sales.
The products are already being successfully sold through food retailers and our own online shop.”
The Munich Founders' Prize is the local award of the German Founders' Prize competition. In recent years, Munich-based startups have also regularly won the national awards in the Founders' Prize competition.
