Founders leave Windeln.de

The two founders and current co-CEOs of Windeln.de are leaving the company. Their contracts expire at the end of March 2018 and will not be renewed.

The Munich-based e-commerce company has been undergoing a restructuring for some time now, and the shopping club nakiki has also fallen victim to this: 100 employees had to leave last year. Despite increasing sales, the company is generating losses — but these were halved in the second quarter compared to the previous year. A result of the austerity course.

The supervisory board was apparently still dissatisfied with the company's development and did not extend the contracts of the two founders and co-CEOs, Konstantin Urban and Alexander Brand. After March 31, 2018, Amazon executive Matthias Peuckert will take over as CEO of Windeln.de SE. He will receive a three-year contract. Peuckert has worked at Amazon since 2003.

Founders remain shareholders of Windeln.de

According to all parties involved, the company and its founders are parting ways amicably. Co-founders Konstantin Urban announces:

“As shareholders, Alexander and I will follow the company’s further development with interest and remain closely connected to it.”

His co-founder Alexander Brand:

"We are proud to see that our 'baby' has grown. A lot has been achieved here in recent years. Following our IPO in 2015 and the significant operational progress we have recently made, we are leaving a company that is well positioned. The market potential is enormous, and with the reorganization of the Management Board, an important next milestone has been reached."

Willi Schwerdtle, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Windeln.de SE, commented:

"We are extremely pleased to have gained Matthias Peuckert, a highly experienced e-commerce manager, for the next important phase of our corporate development. The Supervisory Board is convinced that he is the right person on board to lead Windeln.de SE strategically and operationally successfully into the future."

Schwerdtle attests to the two founders a “outstanding pioneering and development work of Windeln.de as an internationally positioned e-commerce company with more than 200 million euros in sales“.
