The Schwarz Group with its supermarket chains Lidl and Kaufland is an official partner of the Retailtech HubsThe startup program now wants to expand into other industries.
Just this summer, the MediaMarktSaturn Group, together with the Plug and Play accelerator, opened the Retailtech Hub as the successor to the MS Spacelab. MediamarktSaturn's digital director, Martin Wild, had already announced plans to collaborate with retail chains from other industries. The added value for startups should be increased by allowing them to test their products with retailers from various industries. Now, Europe's largest retail group, the Schwarz Group, has accepted the invitation. Thorsten Reichle, Head of Lidl Digital, says:
"Smart startups with good ideas have the opportunity to put their ideas to the test with us. With our extensive branch and logistics network, we offer an attractive, international environment. We hope that this partnership will allow us to stay ahead of the curve and identify and implement future-proof ideas at an early stage."
Partners from other industries sought
The Retailtech Hub is apparently looking for further partners, so Martin Wild:
“We are currently in discussions with retail companies from other industries to offer startups a wide range of opportunities to realize their ideas.”
Currently, ten startups are participating in the first batch of the Retailtech Hub program. The program lasts three months.
