Talentcube secures Maschmeyer deal at DHDL

The Munich-based startup Talentcube has secured an investment on the startup show "Die Höhle der Löwen." Investor Carsten Maschmeyer is investing €400,000 in the HR company. In return, the investor will receive 33.3% of the company's shares.

Hendrik Seiler, Sebastian Niewöhner, and Sebastian Hust met while studying business informatics. Together, the three founders developed the Talentcube concept: An app in which applicants can easily upload their data and documents and in which they can present themselves to the potential employer with a video introduction.

The highlight: Companies add three personalized questions to their job posting, which the applicant answers in the video. Since interested candidates can't prepare for these questions, recruiters get an authentic and personal impression of the candidates before the interview. These candidates, in turn, have the opportunity to impress with their knowledge, charisma, and personality, regardless of their resume.

“Away from Schema F”

With this idea, the Munich residents have The Lion's Den daring. In advance, there was great excitement about whether they would be able to take home something tangible:

"We've built Talentcube without external financing, completed the development phase, and are already generating solid revenue. We're currently looking for an investor who, like us, thinks innovatively and thinks outside the box. We want to clean up the HR department and make application processes leaner and more visual—away from a purely formulaic selection process. This isn't an easy task, but it's a highly exciting one!"

And the founders' courage was rewarded. In the end, "Lion" Carsten Maschmeyer invested €400,000. In return, the young entrepreneurs had to transfer 33.3% of their company shares to the investor, who would act as a strong partner from now on. Another success for the startup Talentcube, which was recently awarded the HR Innovation Award.
