TeleClinic raises two million euros

The Munich-based healthcare startup TeleClinic has successfully completed its seed financing. In addition to existing business angels Michael Brehm, Urs Keller, Stefan Wiskemann, and Max-Josef Meier, the Berlin-based VC firm Digital Health Ventures (DHV), which led the financing round, has now joined the team. A total of two million euros has been raised.

TeleClinicThe startup recently became—according to its own statements—the first and only telemedicine provider to receive approval for exclusive remote treatment. This means TeleClinic physicians are allowed to diagnose and treat remotely, without prior physical contact with the patient. The startup is thus revolutionizing medical care and driving the digitalization of the healthcare industry.

Infrastructure is being expanded — cooperation with online pharmacies

The additional capital will TeleClinic will further expand its telemedicine infrastructure. In addition to diagnoses and remote treatment, online prescriptions will be available starting in January. This is a first in Germany. To enable the latter, the startup plans to cooperate with online pharmacies. Marketing activities and cooperation with health insurers are also being expanded. Currently, around seven health insurers cover the costs of TeleClinic services, including ARAG, Barmenia, Concordia, and Debeka.

Guido Hegener, Managing Partner of DHV, is impressed by the Munich-based health company:

"We believe there is enormous potential demand for telemedicine services – and we are also excited by how successfully TeleClinic has already established itself as a pioneer in the German market. We look forward to supporting the company in making telemedicine accessible to as many patients as possible in all federal states."
