ParkHere receives VDE Award 2017

And the winner is: The Association for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies of Southern Bavaria (VDE) has honored the Munich-based startup ParkHere with the VDE Award 2017. The three founders developed the first energy-autonomous parking sensor, for which they received the award from the VDE this year.

In the dignified setting of the Bayerischer Hof, the Munich startup ParkHere   awarded the VDE Award 2017 for outstanding technical and scientific achievements.

"This year, a young startup receives the VDE Award in the Business category. It impressed the jury with a particularly clever idea. ParkHere has the potential for commercial success."

With these words, Mrs. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Petra Friedrich, Chair of VDE Southern Bavaria, Felix Harteneck, Jakob Sturm, and Clemens Techmer, the three founders of ParkHere, addressed the audience. In her speech, she particularly emphasized the innovative approach of the technology.

VDE Award for the first energy-autonomous parking sensor

ParkHere's core product is the self-powered parking sensor. This generates the necessary energy from the pressure exerted by the passing car to transmit the information wirelessly. This means the system requires neither a power connection nor batteries. An algorithm then analyzes the collected data, allowing, for example, the occupancy status of the parking space to be displayed via a dashboard or web app.
