Orcan Energy: From Munich to the wider world

Orcan Energy AG is driving forward its internationalization! It has secured new orders for its efficiency PACKs from the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, and Lithuania. The efficiency PACK is used to convert waste heat from engines into electricity, for example, in combined heat and power plants for biogas plants.

From Munich to the wide world: The TUM spin-off Orcan Energy develops modules for generating electricity from waste heat from industry, transport, and power generation. The company recently announced that its entire fleet had reached 500,000 operating hours. And another milestone: More than 70 Orcan's second-generation micro power plants are now in operation worldwide.

More efficiency for biogas plants

The applications for which the efficiency PACK was purchased include, in addition to traditional biogas plants, a wastewater treatment plant in the Netherlands and flare gas in Canada. Maximilian Mandl in Pöttelsdorf (Austria) has opted for the 2nd generation ORC from Orcan:

"When we visited an Orcan reference plant, it was immediately clear to us that we could operate our own biogas plant much more efficiently with Orcan's efficiency PACK. It's really paying off for us."

“The heating market is a sleeping giant”

And also Kai Kamossa, Head of the Renewables & CHP Business Unit at Orcan Energy, is delighted with the international success of his company:

"We are now represented in nine countries, which demonstrates both the confidence in our product and the global demand for energy efficiency solutions: the heating market is a sleeping giant that we are slowly awakening. We can serve this market because we offer scalable solutions from the kilowatt to the megawatt range."

In addition to agriculture, Orcan Energy is already successfully represented in the marine, industrial and power generation markets with its ORC-based heat recovery.
