The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) is once again supporting startups in their trade fair participation in 2018. The supported companies can participate in joint stands at 72 international trade fairs in Germany.
The trade fair program for young, innovative companies is aimed primarily at startups from industry, trades, and technology-oriented service sectors. It is intended to support the marketing and, in particular, the export of new products and processes by German companies.
Participating startups will receive 60 TEUR of the booth rental and construction costs for their first two trade fair participations. The self-contribution is 40 TEUR. Only upon their third participation in the same trade fair will the exhibitor cover half of the costs themselves. A total of three participations at the same trade fair can be funded.

The prerequisite for the inclusion of trade fairs in the funding program is that they have at least 15 % foreign exhibitors and 10 % foreign visitors and that they are FKM – Society are certified for the voluntary control of trade fair and exhibition figures.
