Generation D is launching its tenth ideas and startup competition in 2018. What's special about it: Only innovative ideas that create social added value are sought. Young professionals and students can apply until March 31st.
Does your idea or startup solve a problem in a novel way? Are you reimagining tried-and-tested approaches? For Generation D, entrepreneurial motivation is particularly important, in addition to an innovative business idea with a social and sustainable impact on society. In keeping with the 'social entrepreneurship' philosophy, the competition aims to demonstrate that combining social projects and economic success don't have to be mutually exclusive.
In the anniversary year, the winning teams will receive a total of €15,000 plus numerous coaching sessions. The amount per team will be based on the justified need for implementation. In recent years, prizes ranging from €1,500 to €5,000 have been awarded per team.
How does the application process work for Generation D?
You upload your application documents to the website. Your submissions will then be evaluated by a jury, and the 20 most convincing teams will be invited to a telephone interview to present their ideas. The organizers will inform you about your participation in the final well in advance of the final pitch event in Munich.
In 2016, a Munich startup also took the podium at the Generation-D competition. Social Bee was awarded in the category 'Social Society'. The company is a social temporary employment agency that aims to actively integrate recognized refugees into the labor market and society. (read an interview with the founders here).
