The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs will once again honor cutting-edge technology with the Bavarian Energy Prize in the new year. Applications are open until March 9, 2018.
The prize is awarded for the successful implementation of creative ideas and the responsible use of energy. The award recognizes the commitment of companies, municipalities, universities, associations, teams, and private individuals to the topic of energy. A total of €31,000 in prize money is available, of which €15,000 goes to the main prize winner.
Energy prize in eight categories
Since 1999, the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs has awarded the Bavarian Energy Prize every two years. The award consists of a main prize and eight prizes in the following categories:
- Building as an energy system / building concept
- Energy generation – electricity, heat
- Energy distribution and storage – electricity, heat
- Energy efficiency in industrial processes and production as well as energy efficiency networks
- Products and applications
- Municipal energy concepts
- Initiatives / educational projects
- Energy Research – Young Talent Award
