Million-dollar investment for shipping monitoring startup parcelLab

ParcelLab has closed a seven-figure Series A financing round. The Munich-based startup plans to use the fresh capital to hire new employees and accelerate international growth.

New investors include TAKKT Beteiligungsgesellschaft (TBG) and the VC fund Coparion, which joined the company founded in 2014. Managing Director and Co-Founder Tobias Buxhoidt says:

"We are very pleased to have two more strong strategic partners on board with TBG and Coparion. We will now invest heavily in expanding our IT and sales teams and are looking for new talent."

“Shipping as part of the customer journey”

The solution of parcelLab monitors packages sent by online retailers in real time. An algorithm detects delivery delays and informs the retailer's customers via various channels such as email or SMS. The software sends personalized pickup notifications and delivery announcements in the retailer's corporate identity. This allows the retailer to stay in touch with the customer even after the purchase. Buxhoidt says:

"Many companies have so far neglected shipping as a part of the customer journey. Fortunately, mail order companies are increasingly discovering that this offers enormous potential for cross-selling and upselling, as well as for strengthening customer loyalty. We can already count Marc O'Polo, Jochen Schweizer, Thomann, and Weltbild among our satisfied customers, which of course further confirms our commitment."
