Sono Motors continues European tour 2018

Since July 2017 The SION electric car is no longer just a bright idea from three young Munich-based founders, but also a prototype you can touch and drive. And after the startup Sono Motors successfully test-drived its first solar-powered electric car through Germany, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Austria, and Switzerland last year, it also plans to conquer Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland in 2018.

An electric car with a range of 250 kilometers for 16,000 euros, whose body is equipped with solar cells and converts solar energy into electricity. That's a brief description of the SION from Sono Motors. More than 7,000 people have already been able to personally convince themselves of its driving capabilities during the last German and European tour of the Munich electric carAs a result, the Munich-based startup already has almost 3,200 pre-orders. However, Sono Motors needs at least 5,000 pre-orders to start production.

High demand for further test drives

That's why even more people across Europe should have the opportunity to test the electric car from Munich. The 2018 test drive tour will take them to Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. Co-founder Navina Pernsteiner says:

"We were truly surprised by the demand for further test drives since the completion of the first tour. Our visitors were thrilled with the Sion's driving experience and also gave us great feedback."

But the Netherlands, France, Austria and Switzerland can also look forward to another visit from the environmentally friendly vehicle from Munich.

Information about the 2018 tour

It all kicks off in March 2018 in the Italian capital, Rome. The Sono Motors tour team will travel through major European cities for about six months, trying to introduce people to the idea of a sustainable mobility concept.
