Infographic: German insurtechs raised more than $74 million in 2017

German insurtech startups received a total of $74 million in investments last year. An infographic shows that two-thirds of the investment volume went to a Munich-based company.

With 40 million euros, about 50 million US dollars, a Munich-based startup secured the lion's share of the total investment: The digital health insurer Ottonova convinced Holtzbrinck Ventures, Vorwerk Ventures, Tengelmann Ventures, b-to-v and STS Ventures, among others, to invest money in the young company.

Financing activity has become calmer overall in 2017: Compared to 2016, the investment volume in Insurtechs fell by around ten percent, from 82 million to 74 million US dollars.
