The Munich startup evaluate won the 2018 ISPO Award with Kettler GmbH's Running Lab. The prize was awarded in the Health & Fitness segment (treadmill category). evalu brings personalized running training to the home with its software.
evalu has developed a training app for runners combined with the first mobile force sensor for insoles. The sensor provides feedback on the load on the feet while running. This data can then be linked to a Kettler treadmill.
The evalu.run running trainer has been available on the German market since summer 2017. The treadmill with the evalu running lab is scheduled for delivery in September 2018.
"The sensor analyzes the load on the athlete with every step and how the athlete reacts to that load. This information can be used not only to optimize running technique and training style, but, more importantly, to adapt the training itself to the athlete,"
so Benedict Seitz, one of the founders of the startup.
Direct feedback from customers
The combination of a training app, high-tech foot sensor, and treadmill combines the optimal training environment with intelligent, personalized training instructions. The founders have continuously developed the product in consultation with their customers. Maximilian Gloel, also part of the founding team:
"We were overwhelmed by the positive feedback from ambitious amateur athletes. Many reported their training successes to us early on."
The startup can already boast some successes: awarded the ISPO Brandnew Award in 2016, followed in autumn 2016 the seed financing.
