Innovation competition of the state capital Munich: Apply now!

The City of Munich's innovation competition is entering its first round. The state capital is seeking innovative solutions for the "Smart City" topic. If you have concepts or ideas for new technologies or applications that could improve the city's services and make them more efficient, apply for the City of Munich's innovation competition by June 20th.

The idea behind the competition: to open up the city administration and bring it together with entrepreneurs to jointly develop, test, and implement solutions. The innovation competition is intended to give entrepreneurs the opportunity to work with city experts to make the city more innovative. As the scientific partner for the innovation competition, UnternehmerTUM The innovation competition is looking for solutions related to the topic of "Smart City."

Three topics are in focus:

1. Augmented Reality – Presentation of digital information:
The Munich Geodata Service has a citywide digital 3D model containing existing and planned buildings. Based on this model, future development will be visualized at the Freiham North test site using augmented reality features.

2. Crowd Awareness – Recording the capacity of the Munich subway:
The test site is the construction site at Sendlinger Tor subway station and adjacent subway stations. Among other things, a solution concept is being sought that can control passenger flows.

3. Further development of the Munich Construction Centre into Climate Competence Center Munich – The Munich Building Center provides information and advice to Munich residents on all aspects of housing, renovation, and construction. It is now being developed into a climate competence center with a digital platform. Test field: Field studies, surveys, and innovative approaches can be tested during the ongoing operations of the building center.

Who is the innovation competition aimed at?

The competition is aimed at founders, startups, and students working on innovative solutions. Anyone who wants to test their ideas in practice is encouraged to apply. As a winner of the City of Munich's innovation competition, you will receive access to the city administration and thus the necessary information and data to realize your ideas. Applications can be submitted online. The deadline has been extended: June 20, 2018.
