Five new startups have joined Telefónica's accelerator Wayra. Three of the young companies, accu:rate, INNOSPOT, and Qolware, are from Munich.
Wayra is supporting the five tech startups accu:rate, Neebo, INNOSPOT, Qolware, and StackFuel in further developing their solutions over the next four months. The goal of the program is to win Telefónica as a customer for its products. With this, Wayra Germany is continuing its much-heralded venture client model now for the first time in practice.
“The project business with Telefónica represents a great opportunity for the startups and can give them a real boost in innovation,”
explained Christian Lindener, Managing Director of Wayra Germany. Katrin Bacic, who is responsible for the exchange between the Wayra startups and Telefónica's business units, says:
“Wayra Germany has found interesting founding teams whose core technologies fit the current development needs in many areas at Telefónica.”
Wayra seeks concrete benefits for Telefónica
The Munich startup accu:rate simulates and analyses pedestrian flows and assists with fire safety verification, capacity analyses, process audits and user comfort studies. The London team of Neebo records children's heart rate, oxygen saturation and body temperature, analyses them and makes them available via an app. INNOSPOT from Munich uses artificial intelligence to connect startups with companies. Qolware, also based in Munich, is developing an intelligent app that automatically detects emergency situations such as falls and alerts emergency services, provides medication reminders, and monitors health status. The app can be used to care for and support relatives, seniors, and chronically ill patients. StackFuel from Berlin offers online training in the areas of data analytics and data science for corporations, medium-sized companies and startups. Bacic says about the selection of startups:
"The solutions from Neebo and Qolware are particularly interesting for Telefónica's B2B and B2C sectors. We plan to use the products of the other startups more for internal processes. For example, StackFuel's: Their training program is ideal for significantly advancing further education and specialist training in data analytics at Telefónica. With INNOSPOT, we primarily want to support trend and startup scouting for Wayra Germany."
