Allez, allez! How startups get to Viva Technology in Paris

For startups eyeing France as their next target market, the Viva Technology conference is the perfect place. On May 24 and 25, 68,000 participants will gather, including over 6,000 startups and 1,400 investors. A special treat: A total of eight Bavarian startups will be admitted to Viva Technology for free this time! To participate, you must apply with your pitch deck by March 26, 2018. So let's go—allez, allez!

The conference  Viva Technology  (VivaTech for short) has developed into a major event within three years: Here, international startups meet established companies as potential partners and around 1,400 top investors. A similar format to MUST or the Bits & Pretzels — but still a bit bigger.

Offer for Bavarian startups

Now the French region of Île-de-France, meaning Paris and the surrounding area, is inviting eight Bavarian startups to attend the tech conference. Upon successful application, they will receive:

  • Ticket for VivaTech
  • Travel expenses Munich-Paris-Munich
  • 2 nights
  • Ticket for Paris public transport

In addition to a variety of panels, open innovation talks and the exciting supporting program of VivaTech, the winners can also expect a business tour to the key stakeholders in the region, a startup tour of the conference and a workshop to help them gain a foothold in France and specifically in the Île-de-France region.

Which startups should apply for VivaTech 2018?

To create synergies and fit into the VivaTech 2018 edition, tech startups must develop concepts that relate to at least one of the following topics:

  • AI / Robotics
  • Smart Mobility
  • Augmented Reality or Virtual Reality

The start-ups should already be in the acceleration phase, have received at least one Series A financing round, be more than two years old, and demonstrate high revenue growth (more than 1 million euros) and strong employee growth (more than 10 employees).

More to come…

Startups with a focus on France can also be excited. The two regions plan to sign a partnership agreement in May, which will also address the internationalization of startups. Perhaps a "soft landing" for startups will soon be added to the ticket offer for VivaTech, allowing them to quickly test the foreign market. And a Bavarian-French Startup Night is also planned again.
