Artificial intelligence also applies to long-distance bus bookings: Google Assistant integrates FlixBus, the first long-distance bus provider worldwide. Travel information and FlixBus ticket booking are now available on Google Assistant.
The new transaction on the Google Assistant enables convenient searches for the desired FlixBus trip using the voice assistant. Users can quickly access information about connections, departure times, and current prices using voice control. Once they have found the right trip, customers can then book their ticket using voice control. The FlixBus transaction on the Google Assistant is initially available in German, English, and French.
FlixBus has pursued a customer-focused digital strategy since its inception. From service to booking and passenger information, it is constantly working on further developing its offerings. Since March 2017, the international FlixBus route network, with 250,000 daily connections, has been accessible via Google Maps using the Google Transit feature.

“The sooner companies take advantage of the possibilities of assistive marketing, the sooner they can build up the necessary know-how,”
explained Malte Will, Product Partnerships, Google Assistant.
“We are pleased that in FlixBus we have a partner who recognized this potential early on and with whom we can jointly shape the future of the digital assistant.”

The transaction also supports multimodal use, meaning it can be accessed via voice, text, or a simple click, depending on the device the customer is using to communicate with the digital assistant.
The integration with Google Assistant makes the 250,000 daily FlixBus connections to over 1,700 destinations in 27 countries accessible directly from home and at any time.
