A pair of headphones for on the go with a sophisticated wooden look that can be converted into a speaker system in a flash. The idea rocks. And so the four "Soundsetter“ from Munich won the first prize of 1,000 euros at the 5 Euro StartUp 2015.
Second place went to the team “Give up„ and his idea of systematically redistributing surpluses such as mobile phones or computers to those in need. Third place was shared by the team “sports„ with an app to find sports meetings and training partners nearby and “upstories”, a platform for retailers and entrepreneurs to reduce vacancy times.
Testing business ideas with low risk
Nine student teams competed in the finals with their business ideas. The principle of the competition: to realize your own ideas – with the support of startup coaches and with low risk. The "5 Euro StartUp" enables students from all Munich universities to start their own company in a very short time with five euros of start-up capital and test it on the market. After the competition, individual consulting is offered to those who wish to pursue their business idea further.
5 Euro StartUp is linked to the "InnovationsGeist" qualification program for LMU students, which imparts specialist knowledge and soft skills for professional life through a series of seminars and camps. It combines continuing education, coaching, and consulting. "5 Euro StartUp" is organized by LMU Munich, the Munich University of Applied Sciences, and HOCHSPRUNG, the university program for entrepreneurship.
The next “5 Euro StartUp” will take place in the summer semester of 2016.
