Wayra and Fluxunit are looking for startups in the field of Industrial IoT

Wayra Germany is expanding its collaboration with corporate partners to support startups and is launching its cross-industry program with Fluxunit GmbH – the venture capital unit of OSRAM.

We are looking for a mature startup in the field of the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) that offers solutions for productivity and efficiency, asset tracking, value creation, or industrial wearables. The founding team can implement a four-month technology project with Telefónica and OSRAM and acquire both industry giants as customers.

Apply by June 29

It will also have access to technology and management experts from the companies' network and will be supported by professional project management. The parent companies of Wayra Deutschland and Fluxunit—Telefónica and OSRAM—will also directly benefit from the collaboration. Industrial IoT startups can apply until June 29, 2018.

The goal of the project is to find new and advanced solutions for industrial manufacturing and the Industrial Internet of Things. Startups that primarily work on cross-industry solutions—and thus help address relevant challenges for both telecommunications and industrial companies—are eligible to apply.

Direct project business and intensive coaching

"Through the Cross Industrial Program, we enable young founders to develop their technologies in a solution-oriented and industry-independent manner. At the same time, we at Wayra Germany want to provide startups with access to Telefónica,"

explained Christian Lindener, Managing Director at Wayra Germany.

“The direct project work and intensive coaching by industry experts, in turn, enable the selected startup to make progress in the further development of its products and business model.”

OSRAM Ventures already Wayra's second corporate partner

Dr. Ulrich Eisele, Managing Director of Fluxunit GmbH, says:

"We're launching this startup call together with Wayra because we believe that connected systems and data analytics will fundamentally change the way we use and manage professional buildings. Digital infrastructure solutions represent one of Fluxunit's six investment priorities when it comes to industrial applications in production, warehousing, and logistics."

And further:

“Participating in this program gives the selected startup the chance to conduct a pilot project with a customer and be mentored by industry experts.”

Fluxunit GmbH – OSRAM Ventures is the second corporate partner with which Wayra Germany is searching for startups. In the spring of this year, Telefónica's Startup Track started the search together with Volkswagen Data:Lab and a young team of founders were selected for funding. Overall, this is Wayra Germany’s fourth startup call following its Reorganization in November 2017.
