Konux awarded with CogX Award

The sensor startup Konux has won the CogX Award in London. The Munich-based company beat the competition in the "Outstanding Innovations in AI: IoT and Sensors" category.

The CogX Awards recognize the world's best AI achievements in industry, journalism, and academia. Other winners include Amazon Alexa, Netflix, Accenture, and Unilever.

Konux develops smart sensors and analytics based on artificial intelligence. This enables railway companies to improve the capacity of their rail network and punctuality. The startup is working with, among others, with Deutsche Bahn together. Konux-CEO Andreas Kunze says:

"We are very proud of the CogX Award. It underscores that we've struck a chord with our solution. The railway is an unbeatably economical means of transport, and our goal is to contribute to further improving the availability of the systems. We are very confident that we will be operating in more than half a dozen countries by the end of this year."

Konux in success mode

The companies nominated for the 2018 CogX Awards were selected by a 20-member jury of industry experts and journalists. The judges include Mike Butcher from Techcrunch, the American journalist Esther Dyson, Nigel Richard Shadbolt, Principal of Jesus College, Oxford and William Tunstall-Pedoe, founder of the British company Evi.

This is not the first success story for Konux this year. At the beginning of the year, the startup was one of the world's 30 “Technology Pioneers” at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos The company was previously recognized by the WEF as one of the world's most innovative startups In April, the Munich-based company secured a Series B financing round with 20 million US dollars complete.
