FitTech Summit: Hands-on fitness and technology

Well-known figures from the FitTech scene, discussions, live sessions with prominent influencers, networking in a beach atmosphere and a pitch for one million euros in media volume: Europe's first FitTech Summit, which was organized by Burda Bootcamp, part of Hubert Burda Media, in Munich on Tuesday, attracted around 800 participants from all over the world to Beach38 to exchange ideas about current trends.

Natalia Karbasova, Head of Burda Bootcamp:

"FitTech is currently one of the most discussed topics in the fitness industry. I'm delighted that we were able to bring together so many promising startups, major investors, and renowned companies at the successful premiere of our FitTech Summit in Munich (...)."

The FitTech Summit aimed to combine knowledge, action, and networking. The main stage program offered information on the FitTech world through keynotes, panels, interviews, and panel discussions.

Startup pitch for one million euros in media volume

In keeping with the theme, sporting activities were also not neglected: On the Activity Stage, there was a six-hour workout program - from virtual reality sessions to yoga and influencer workouts, including with Charlotte Kuhrt from "Beautynotsize".

In the startup area, numerous young companies presented themselves with offers that invited people to try out: for example the mirror of SOLOS, which checks the correct execution of sports exercises and a virtual reality device from Icaros, which you control through a fictional world using your own body coordination.

At the end of the day, the most exciting part of the event awaited ten startups: During the big pitch, a four-person jury consisting of Jens Pippig (Managing Director, ProSiebenSat.1 Accelerator), Philipp Walter (Head of Marketing DACH, Under Armour), Camilla Dolan (Principal, Burda Principal Investments), and Peer-Gunnar Simon (Director Tech Industry Team Bavaria, HypoVereinsbank) decided which startup would win a media volume of one million euros. In the end, "Bikemap" from Vienna, an online community for cyclists that focuses on bike routes, prevailed. "Fitfox" took third place, and "Mommymove" took second place.
