In the course of its one-year anniversary, the InsurTech Hub Munich (ITHM) together with the LMU Entrepreneurship Center the exclusive pitch event Cashwalk at WERK1 in Munich, where 26 selected startups presented themselves to over 50 investors and a select jury.
Funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, ITHM is an entrepreneurial platform consisting of two accelerator programs that supports startups and connects them with key players from various industries.

Tom Van den Brulle, Chairman of the Board of ITHM and Global Head of Innovation at MunichRe, said about the event:
"The Cashwalk was the ideal event to mark our first anniversary and underscore what we stand for: the successful networking of young, promising startups with investors and relevant players from the insurance industry and politics. From the more than 100 applicants, we selected a total of 26 startups from the areas of mobility, smart home, digital health, cybersecurity, and IoT that successfully secured funding for their companies."
A company from Estonia was delighted to take the overall victory. Van den Brulle commented:
"With the Estonian startup Black Insurance, we have chosen a deserving winner. Their blockchain-based solution enables insurance brokers to design and distribute their own insurance policies. This solution is unique worldwide. Our sincere thanks also go to our distinguished jury for their excellent evaluation of the startups."
