Are you a startup specializing in cybersecurity that impresses with innovative ideas? Then apply now for the UP18@it-sa Award. The application deadline is August 17.
Security startups will have their own platform at it-sa 2018 to engage with decision-makers, investors, and potential business partners. UP18@it-sa will bring 18 young companies together with industry experts in an exclusive setting on October 8, 2018, the day before it-sa, and will present an award to the best startup. Companies from the DACH region that have been in existence for a maximum of seven years are eligible to apply. The winning startup will receive individual coaching from the Digital Hub Cybersecurity and the Bavarian IT Security Cluster.
“More visibility, recognition and market success”
The first competition exclusively for security startups from the DACH region offers newcomers their own marketplace to establish valuable contacts and convince corporate decision-makers, consultants or potential investors with their know-how.
“With the UP18@it-sa Award, we want to help cybersecurity startups achieve greater visibility, recognition and market success,”
explains co-initiator Philipp S. Krüger, Managing Director of the Digital Hub Cybersecurity in Darmstadt.
Sandra Wiesbeck, as Chairwoman of the Bavarian IT Security Cluster and also initiator and jury member, refers to the network idea:
“We offer innovative startups the platform they deserve.”
Expert audience determines the winner of the pitch
A jury of experts, consisting of the initiators and experts like Ammar Alkassar, will initially select 18 applicants who excel in the areas of offering, company, and sales and marketing strategy. The expert audience will then vote for the award winner during the pitching in Nuremberg.
“The first competition exclusively for security startups ideally enriches it-sa and complements the special area Startups@it-sa.”
so Frank Venjakob, Executive Director it-sa.
Interested companies can now apply on the UP18@it-sa website with a pitch presentation containing relevant information about the company, its products and services, and its sales strategy. Startups from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland with a focus on IT security or data protection are eligible to participate. The application deadline is August 17, 2018.
