Creative, travel-loving and curious: Which startup wants to SXSW (South by Southwest) to Austin, Texas? The City of Munich and the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs plan to support five startups again next year. Anyone who wants to travel to SXSW in Austin in 2019 and is from the media, cultural, and creative industries should apply by October 12, 2018.
Startups that come from one of these areas — Software/games industry, music, book market, fine arts market, film or broadcasting industry, performing arts market, design industry, architecture, press or advertising market — have the chance to receive an Interactive ticket and a travel grant of €2,000. SXSW 2019 will take place from March 8 to 17, 2019, with the Interactive portion of SXSW taking place from March 8 to 12, 2019.

How the city of Munich supports you on your journey
The City of Munich and the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs support young, innovative companies that seek inspiration and development through a trip to the world's largest cultural and creative industries festival. During and around SXSW, Austin the A meeting place for founders from all over the world, major companies from the US will also be represented. Startups can pitch their business ideas to them, either on stage or in passing, on the sidelines of the 1,000 events taking place on site.
There will also be an opportunity for exchange with the Bavarian State Minister for Digital, Media and Europe, Georg Eisenreich, with other representatives of the City of Munich and the Free State of Bavaria, as well as with many Bavarian and German companies.
The application should include the following information:
• Age of the company, number of employees and turnover
• How long has the company been on the market and is it already operating in the USA?
• In which industry does the company operate?
• What business idea could be pitched in Austin?
• Cover letter: Why does a trip to SXSW make sense for the company at this time? What are the expectations for the visit?
