Cellfie Counter wins the 5 Euro Startup Competition 2018

By making cell counting easier in laboratories and universities, the two-person team "Cellfie Counter" won the 2018 5 Euro Startup Competition. Second and third place went to "Cusolu" and "Peppy Order." The winning teams have now launched their crowdfunding campaigns.

The idea behind the "Cellfie Counter" project is to detect and count cells using an app. The smartphone is attached to a microscope using a device. The target audience is universities and laboratories. This approach and the prototype impressed the four-member jury at the closing ceremony.

Second place went to the team "Cusolu," which offered workshops on solving the Rubik's Cube. Participants learned how to solve the cube within two hours using a specially developed concept. The workshops are intended to convey that every seemingly unsolvable problem is solvable and are offered in companies, youth centers, and refugee shelters, for example.

Third place went to the “Peppy Order” team, a sign system that alerts service staff in restaurants to customer requests such as reorders or payment requests.

Teams launch crowdfunding campaigns

All three placed teams have submitted their projects to the Crowdfunding Contest on Startnext launched, supported by Stadtsparkasse München. This will allow for even more intensive market testing and, at the same time, develop the ideas a step further toward sustainability.
