Seven teams made it to the final round of Generation-D's 2018 social entrepreneurship competition. Two Munich-based startups — Climedo Health and Acrai — were on the winners’ podium.
The Generation-D competition, organized by volunteer students, recognizes social and ecological added value in all its diverse forms. Four competition categories were available: Education, Health, Social Society, and Environment.

Acrai and EatApple represented the “Environment” sector. The Munich-based company Acrai By developing an autonomous robot for mechanical weed control in agricultural land, Acrai offers an environmentally friendly alternative to chemical herbicides. This idea won Acrai the top prize.
The “Health” category was won by the Munich startups Smokeless and ClimedoThese teams have set themselves the task of solving two of the major medical challenges facing modern Western society. Smokeless offers a holistic smoking cessation program using innovative e-cigarettes. Climedo, in turn, offers customized software solutions for clinics and physicians to provide individualized therapy for their patients. With its business idea, Climedo pitched its way to second place in the Generation-D 2018 competition.
The Berlin fashion label AUF AUGENHOEHE competed in the "Social Society" category. The company won the special prize for its fashion line for people of short stature.
