TandemCamp — Apply now!

It's a Match between Fraunhofer researchers and startup founders—that's exactly what TechBridge's TandemCamp hopes to announce again soon, and is looking for interested startups. The application deadline is September 16.

TandemCamp is a format designed to support Fraunhofer startup collaborations. The tandems always consist of an external startup and researchers from a Fraunhofer Institute. The goal of the collaboration is for both sides to provide mutual professional support. One example is the collaboration between the Munich-based startup Mecuris and the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA).

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for tandems from all technology areas who:

  • are motivated
  • Be able to invest time in the initiation and implementation of a joint project
  • jointly pursue innovative business models with high market potential

5 steps to the project budget

Does this appeal to you? Then there are only five steps between you, your match, and a project budget to help you implement your plans.

In the first step, startups and institutes come together and develop a joint project ideaThe TechBridge team supports external startups in their search for a suitable tandem partner.

The Online application The application is then processed via the Innovation Hub: A questionnaire requests information about the startup, the institute, and the project. A project outline and a startup pitch deck must also be submitted.

Afterwards there will be a Preselection After all applications have been received, selected tandems will be invited to a video conference for individual interviews in an initial selection process.

It continues with a Kick-off workshop: Eight selected tandems will be invited to a one-day kick-off workshop in Munich. During the day, the tandems will work on their shared cooperation vision and roadmap.

Last but not least, there is a Pitch The evaluation will take place before a selected jury: On the evening of the kick-off workshop, a jury will award the following project budgets for the initial phase during a public evening event: two budgets of €15,000 each, four budgets of €10,000 each, and two budgets of €5,000 each. The project budgets will then be made available to the institutes for joint project work.
