VEGDOG impresses on “The Lion’s Den”

Vegan dog food convinces lions! Or at least one lioness: Dagmar Wöhrl made an offer to VEGDOG on "The Lion's Den."

The Munich-based startup VEGDOG presented its business idea last night on the VOX show "Die Höhle der Löwen." The team, led by founder Tessa Zaune-Figlar, wanted to convince one or more lions to invest in their company with vegan dog food. Their offer: €150,000 for 10% of the company's shares.

Wanted: Strategic Partner

The young company has already demonstrated that there is a demand for vegan dog food, with sales of 100,000 euros in 2017. And all the lions were enthusiastic about the idea and the team around Zaune-Figlar.

Ultimately, however, only Dagmar Wöhrl made the team an offer. For Wöhrl, it was a "matter close to her heart," as she herself described it. The Nuremberg native has been involved with the animal welfare association for years. Her offer: €150,000 for 20%. Wöhrl also made it clear that she would only get involved if she could truly help. This also suited VEGDOG: Tessa Zaune-Figlar emphasized in her pitch that her startup was primarily looking for a strategic partner who could support the company with marketing and sales expertise.

After a brief consultation with her business angel, Zaune-Figlar agreed to the deal.
