Business angel duo Susanne and Felix Porsche are joining Munich-based AI startup TAWNY. The team, led by Managing Director Dr. Michael Bartl, is now in a strong position, with Prof. Susanne Porsche, winner of the "Golden Aurora" award as Europe's Female Business Angel of the Year 2018, on board.
TAWNY is an AI-based technology that enables machines, robots, and digital systems to read human emotions. The goal of this technology is to enable future products, services, and environments to be designed empathetically, making them more efficient, comfortable, healthier, and safer. Emotion recognition and the classification of stress, flow, and other states of well-being are based on video, audio, and physiological data such as heart rate variability and skin conductivity. Applications for TAWNY technology include cars that respond to the state of their drivers, a work environment that adapts to the state of their employees, smart connected products in the consumer goods sector, emotion-driven media and recommendation systems, and entirely new forms of market research.
Founded in 2017, the emotion AI startup focuses on the B2B sector and has already deployed its technology with renowned clients. TAWNY emerged from the incubation environment of the innovation hub HYVE. Now, the startup can announce another milestone: Susanne and Felix Porsche will be involved with the Munich-based company as business angels.
The goal: “To be the most successful Emotion AI company in Europe in 2019”
Dr. Marco Maier, Managing Director of TAWNY, says:
"As one of the few startups in Germany with an explicit focus on deep learning, we have always been able to attract the interest of talented individuals in the AI field. We are therefore all the more pleased to now further expand this team and consolidate our position as one of the leading companies in affective computing."
Dr. Michael Bartl, Managing Director of TAWNY:
"We are excited to take the next step with the angel duo Susanne and Felix Porsche. Our goal is to be the most successful Emotion AI company in Europe in 2019."
Business Angel Prof. Susanne Porsche is impressed by the TAWNY team, among others:
“We are very impressed by the team, which brings together outstanding experts in the field of artificial intelligence with experience in embedding innovation in companies.”
And Felix Porsche continues:
“I find it exciting to support a business idea that represents the beginning of a new era of coexistence between humans and machines.”
