A pilot project at Munich Airport is providing freshly landed passengers with food in an innovative way: Through the digital shopping service "emmasbox," air travelers can purchase fresh food in the form of ingredients for seven different meals at the baggage claim in Terminal 2 after arrival.

Menu reservations are made online via tablets that are available to travelers between the baggage carousels.

Hungry travelers can choose: There are currently seven different menus available for home cooking or eating straight away. Fresh food can then be picked up from the refrigerated "emmasbox" station at the southern exit from Level 4 to Level 3.

For example, you can choose from an Italian-inspired menu with pasta, salad and fresh tomatoes, a hearty Bavarian menu with liver dumpling soup and bratwurst with sauerkraut, or a snack package with nibbles.
Cooperation with the airport's innovation department
Cooperation partner of the Pilot project, which is initially scheduled to run until the end of November, is the food retailer Edeka, which also fills the boxes. Payment for the selected menu is made upon pickup by debit or credit card. The idea for the fresh food station “emmasbox” comes from the Munich-based startup open ideas GmbH.
The project was then developed in collaboration with Munich Airport's innovation team. During the pilot phase, the offering will be adapted to customer needs and optimized as needed.

from the field of innovation management. The easy-to-use service from emmasbox is designed to make travelers happy. And with a passenger volume of around 40 million passengers, Munich Airport certainly has many hungry travelers who are looking forward to the Offer from emmasbox be happy.
