The China Chamber of Commerce and the city of Shenzhen are hosting a startup competition with millions in prize money. Applications are open until February 28.
In the 1980s, Shenzhen was little more than a fishing village. Since then, the Chinese city bordering the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has grown into a metropolis with more than 12 million inhabitants.
The AHK Greater China aims to connect German startups with Chinese high-tech companies and is organizing the Innovation & Entrepreneurship International Competition together with the city of Shenzhen.
All non-Chinese startups with innovative products are eligible to apply. The intellectual property rights for all technologies, products, and patents used must be owned by the applicants themselves.
1.45 million euros in prize money
The first two rounds of the competition will take place in Berlin. The four best candidates from each industry will be selected and awarded prizes totaling €23,000. The top two applicants will qualify for the final rounds in Shenzhen, which will take place from April 9 to 12.
Both the top three semifinal teams and the top three finalists will receive additional cash prizes. A total of approximately €1.45 million in prize money will be awarded in the competition.
