scoo.me also on the move in the cathedral city from November
The Munich-based startup Scoo.me will launch in Cologne starting in November. The cathedral city on the Rhine was chosen as the next location after Munich because demand for the keyless rental scooters was highest there. Scoo.me will initially launch with a fleet of 15 Vespa Primavera scooters, which will be located throughout the Cologne business district.

"As a city with congestion and major parking problems, private transport is now reaching its limits in Cologne, too. Our rental scooter service for easy, fast, flexible, and environmentally friendly transportation will hopefully be just as popular in Cologne as it has been in Munich, where the response has been overwhelming: Within just a few months, we have already acquired over 2,500 customers here and are continuing to grow very dynamically.
Booking and onboarding system via scoo.me app
The scoo.me scooters are rented via an app (currently available for iOS and Android) that functions as a booking and onboarding system. The scoo.me app manages registration and driver's license verification. It also serves as a digital key to start the scooter. Upon entering the booking, the user receives a PIN code that can be used to activate the scooter. Billing is also done via the app. The fare is determined using scoo.me's geolocation and administration system, with which every Vespa is constantly connected.
Registration with scoo.me is free. The fare starts at €3.60 for the first half hour. Each additional minute of driving or parking is charged at an additional €0.18 or €0.07, respectively. The maximum limit is €29 per calendar day, regardless of how long or how often the service is used that day.
