Cashwalk 2019: Investor elite back in Munich

In March, LMU Entrepreneurship Center (LMU EC) hosted another Cashwalk at Ludwig Maximilian University. Since 2016, this startup investor event has attracted renowned investors to Munich every six months. Fifty startups pitched for the attention of around 80 venture capitalists and business angels.

The event was appropriately opened by Andy Goldstein, the managing director, investor and co-founder of LMU ECThe young entrepreneurs then had exactly three minutes in a total of three industry-specific pitch rounds to convince the business angels and venture capitalists with the presentation of their idea.

Realistic self-assessment of great value

A pre-selected jury with industry leaders such as Dr. Ulrich Schmitt from High-Tech Gründerfonds, Felix Haas from 10x.group (host of Bits and Pretzels) and Daria Saharova from Vito One took a closer look at the startups and asked targeted questions to evaluate the most promising ideas and teams. The jury members were particularly interested in validating their own projects and providing a well-founded assessment of market size.

During the short networking breaks, business cards were exchanged and contacts were made. The startups each had a booth at the trade fair, allowing them to present their products to investors.

Smokeless and Prospeum among the winners of the Cashwalk 2019

This year's startups included several from the LMU EC Accelerator. Smokeless and Prospeum ultimately made it to the winners' circle. They, along with four other startups—Agranimo, Sewts, Mapudo, and Clever Food Concepts—can look forward to exclusive coaching with investors and tickets to an FC Bayern Basketball game.

The next Cashwalk will take place on September 17, 2019.
