Health startups sought for Health-i Award 2019

Attention health startups: (Young) companies and innovative minds with ideas from the healthcare sector can apply for the Health-i Award 2019 only until June 12th.

Anyone who has the healthcare of tomorrow. Among other things, the winners can look forward to being included on the Health-i Board. This will not only expand their network with experts from the healthcare industry but will also benefit from their expertise.

3 categories at Health-i Award 2019

The Health-i Award 2019 for innovative Digital HealthIdeas were awarded to startups, young talents, and companies. What applies to all three categories: The innovative ideas should improve the quality and transparency of healthcare while ideally reducing costs.

Startups should also bring the following:

  • Digital idea that is innovative in technology and/or business model
  • Less than five years old (founded after January 1, 2012)
  • Fewer than 10 employees and/or an annual turnover of up to 250,000 euros

Existing companies should meet these criteria:

  • The company is more than 5 years old and has already developed innovative products for the healthcare market or successfully implemented projects, and (cross-sector) alliances may exist
  • At least ten full-time employees and a minimum turnover of 250,000 euros
  • Companies such as SMEs, medium-sized enterprises, corporations and subsidiaries
  • Spin-offs and spin-offs from company-owned innovation labs, incubators and accelerators can also apply

Young talents can also be nominated. In 2017, the Munich startup Neolexon won.

The Health-i Award 2019 was initiated by Techniker Krankenkasse and Handelsblatt. The Health-i initiative is under the patronage of the Federal Ministry of Health.

How do the winners benefit?

In addition to media attention, the winners benefit from an extensive network. They are also admitted to the Health-i Board. This network consists of health experts, physicians, professors, journalists, bloggers, entrepreneurs, founders, business angels, managers, and politicians.
