Real estate trade fair Expo Real creates space for innovations and startups

Munich's real estate trade fair Expo Real is expanding to a total of seven halls. A new addition, "Nova3," will provide more space for innovations and startups. The Real Estate Innovation Forum, including the so-called Tech Alley and a startup contest, will relocate here.

With over 2,000 exhibitors and more than 45,000 participants, the real estate trade fair Expo Real clearly reached its (spatial) limits last year. Therefore, an additional hall will be added in October 2019. This is intended, among other things, to meet the demand for more space, including from new exhibitors.

“In addition, the topic of innovation is becoming increasingly important with increasing digitalization and the demand from the real estate industry is increasing accordingly,”

explained Claudia Boymanns, Project Manager of Expo Real.

Real estate trade fair Expo Real focuses on innovation

Hall A3, dubbed "Nova3" by the organizers, will focus on innovation. Therefore, the "Expo Real Innovation Forum," including the Tech Alley and the Startup Contest area, will also be relocated here.

“We are delighted that we have now been able to attract several of the previous startups from the Tech Alley and the Proptech network as main exhibitors,”

says Claudia BoymannsAccording to the trade fair, these include the Munich startups Alasco, Fairfleet and VisnBut other European “grownups” such as Cloudscraper Europe, PlanRadar and Sensorberg have also registered.

Additionally, this year Tech Alley will host 75 ProptechStartups will showcase their digital products, solutions, and ideas in the areas of Plan & Build, Manage & Operate, Research & Valuate, Invest & Finance, Market, and Next City Solutions. In addition, the young companies can present not only their products but also themselves to the audience in a Tech Talk Zone. The 25 finalists of the "Built World Innovation Contest" will be part of the Tech Alley.

The trade fair is convinced of the new concept. Claudia Boymanns explains:

“The Tech Alley, the Tech Talks, the contest, and the extensive conference program at the Real Estate Innovation Forum, together with the new Nova3 Forum, form a unique hub for new thinking and innovation in the real estate industry.”
