Sky Media launches startup competition “Welcome new TV brands”

Sky Media is launching the "Welcome New TV Brands" competition for startups. Interested companies are invited to submit an unusual idea for showcasing their brands or products as part of the 2016 smart beach tour, which is being marketed by Sky Media.

The submissions will be evaluated by a high-caliber jury from the marketing and startup scene. The winner will receive a Media volume of 100,000 euros on the platforms of the smart beach tour 2016 – the third largest national beach volleyball series in the world, which will receive special attention in the 2016 Olympic year.

Conditions of participation and procedure of the competition

The motto of the competition is “Be startup, be creative!” There are no limits to the participants' creativity. The task is to develop unusual ideas for presenting their own brand or products as part of the beach volleyball tournament series. There are no specifications or restrictions for the implementation of this brand presence; the only exception is that the existing advertising spaces on the center court cannot be used.

All startup companies that have never advertised on TV are welcome to participate. On the specially created microsite  Applicants can upload their first marketing idea in the form of a written exposé, which will then be reviewed by the jury. ten startups with the best concepts the chance to explain their idea in detail in a pitch video of a maximum of 15 minutes.

Apply by January 10, 2016!

At the end, three finalists present their ideas live to the jury on a pitch day. The startup with the most innovative brand presentation will receive a Media volume of 100,000 euros on the smart beach tour 2016 platforms (event, TV, online). Additionally, the winner can decide whether to 15,000 Euro production cost subsidy for the implementation of its advertising materials or more 45,000 euros in media volume on top would like to receive.

  • Application deadline: 10.1.2016
  • Nomination of the top ten shortlist until 25 January 2016
  • Creation of the video presentation of the Top Ten by February 8, 2016
  • Pitch Day of the three “Welcome new TV brands” finalists in early March
