Deepc wins Munich Digital Innovation Award

For the fourth consecutive year, the City of Munich, together with "Digitale Stadt München eV," presented the Munich Digital Innovation Award. The prize is intended to honor Munich's most innovative future concept annually. Deepc, a Munich-based health AI startup, impressed the jury in this year's pitch battle at Digicon and took home the Munich Digital Innovation Award 2019.

Three minutes to convince the jury and around 200 representatives of regional and international companies in the auditorium — this was the opportunity the eight participating companies and startups wanted to use in the live battle for the 4th Munich Digital Innovation Award at Digicon 2019.

Making everyday work easier for doctors

The winner was Deepc from the pitch. The mission of the Munich-based health AI startup: to use AI solutions to make doctors' daily work easier and sustainably improve the healthcare system. To this end, it develops software programs that use machine learning methods to assist doctors in their diagnostic work. A current use case: more precise diagnoses based on neural MRI and CT image data. AI solutions from Deepc are intended to help detect anomalies in X-ray images.

For the fourth consecutive year, the pitch was hosted by the Chair of Mobile and Distributed Systems at LMU Munich as part of Digicon. SMEs, startups, and large corporations competed against each other, putting their innovative concepts to the test before a jury and the audience. In a live vote, the audience and judges decided which innovation would advance to the next battle round and ultimately receive the chance to pitch in the final for the coveted Munich Innovation Award.
