Box ID: Intelligent tracking of containers & Co.

Box ID is a Munich-based startup that has launched an intelligent tracking system for supply chain optimization via a platform. The niche provider controls Gate Business Startup Center He has already convinced several established large companies of the benefits of his solution. One of the three founders, Shawn Silberhorn, Head of Operations, answered our questions.

Munich Startup: Who are you and what do you do?

Shawn Silberhorn: We are a founding team that is inspired by new industrial Internet of Things(IIoT) technologies and has diverse experience in technology, sales, marketing, development, and startups. Our co-founders are Wolfgang Vogl (41), Dominik Buchinger (26), and I, Shawn Silberhorn (45). We have known each other personally for many years, but only recently joined forces professionally to found our company, 'Box ID Systems,' in 2018.

Box ID Systems develops end-to-end solutions that enable millions of logistics assets to be tracked digitally and cost-effectively across the entire industrial supply chain across Europe—from site to site, on company premises, and within buildings. Customers in the industrial and automotive manufacturing sectors benefit from more efficient and cost-optimized logistics processes, and from transparent, transparent processes for their critical processes.

Munich Startup: But that's been around for a long time!

Shawn Silberhorn: We actually track the "box" itself. Our system was specifically designed as an "out-of-the-box" solution to enable our customers to easily track and manage hundreds of thousands of reusable containers, load carriers, and specialized assets.

We help our customers reduce costs and avoid disrupted supply chains by significantly reducing losses and managing availability and bottlenecks. We also deliver new insights to support process mining, optimization, and automation.

This provides our customers with an out-of-the-box experience with a complete bird's eye view of all tracked assets across Europe — including detailed location data digitally linked to real-world supply chain processes.

Shawn Silberhorn: The key ingredients for our success are in-depth knowledge of IIoT technology, close development work with our partners, and strong, trusting relationships with our customers.

Shawn Silberhorn: Unicorn status will be achieved when we can successfully connect and track more than ten million supply chain logistics assets across Europe and around the world.

Shawn Silberhorn: For us, fun means going on a long, beautiful hike on a beautiful day, followed by a cold drink in a hearty beer garden. It's all about the mix.
