Crowd Dialog

Review: This is what the Crowd Dialogue 2015 was like

Last Thursday The premises of the IHK Academy Munich became a veritable innovation center: The Crowd Dialogue 2015 With over 40 specialist lectures and discussions, it offered participants a broad range of topics relating to the integration of the Internet swarm into innovation, work and financing processes. The conference, which the Chamber of Industry and Commerce supports as a partner, is more than just the annual gathering of the crowdfunding and crowdsourcing scene. With panel discussions, presentations, and workshops, it provided a comprehensive insight into the development of new forms of (customer) engagement through digital opportunities. Numerous practical case studies demonstrated the diverse potential of crowd involvement in financing, work processes, and idea generation.

Crowdfunding is becoming more professional

The Crowd Dialogue focused heavily on alternative crowdfunding and the question of what place the crowd will occupy in the financing mix of companies in the coming years. The future role of banks as traditional intermediaries, in light of new, direct forms of financing such as crowdlending, crowdfunding, and crowdinvesting, offered considerable potential for discussion. Inevitably linked to this is the search for practical Europe-wide crowdfunding regulation, which EU Commissioner Dr. Joachim Schwerin addressed in his closing remarks at the conference and called on the industry to participate in the ongoing EU consultations.

The new training program from the IHK Academy to become a certified crowdfunding managerIt is seen as a step towards further professionalisation of the subject and could even serve as a model for other institutions in Europe.

Even though many topics could only be viewed briefly given the time constraints, the number of scenarios presented on this day was impressive enough to view crowdsourcing, innovation and funding not as passing trends, but as groundbreaking and progressive changes in almost all sectors of our economy.
