The goal of the innovation conference is to support the development of innovative ideas, demonstrators, or prototypes with a cash prize. However, providers of already commercially available digital products and services that open up new fields of application for the Bundeswehr can also participate and receive awards.
In particular, new innovative ideas, concepts or models from the four areas are expected: Cyber and IT security, including solutions for detecting and defending against attackers in information systems, security solutions for mobile and wireless transmission paths or possible uses of artificial intelligence in cyber security; communication, in particular new methods and approaches for monitoring communications, solutions for secure data transmission and applications for the Internet of Things; geodata, which includes the dissemination and management of large amounts of geodata as well as mixed reality applications; and information processing and management, which includes, among other things, contributions to the optimization of management, control and support systems for information processing.
Application for the Innovation Conference by 31 July
Startups that want to participate in the innovation conference can submit their completed application until July 31st. Application form to code@unibw.de Subsequently, the submissions will be pre-selected by a jury of experts and consumers from the Bundeswehr. Particular attention will be paid to the degree of innovation as well as the relevance and added value for the armed forces. The selected startups will then have the opportunity to present themselves to participants at the innovation conference on November 11, which is part of the three-day CODE conference. There will also be the option of a demonstration or application test at Bundeswehr facilities.
The winner chosen at the innovation conference will receive €15,000 in prize money, the runner-up will receive €10,000, third place will receive €5,000, and places 4 to 12 will each receive €1,000. There's also the opportunity for future collaboration with the German Armed Forces.
