Dominik Romer and his co-founders have adnymics a worldwide unique production system developed: With their development, Online retailers and fulfillment service providers produce package inserts tailored to each individual customer directly in the logistics department.
In an interview, Dominik Romer explains what was particularly helpful in founding adnymics GmbH and why he values Munich as a startup city:
What were the important milestones in the founding?
The first pilot customer was very important to us! It helped us with product development and confirmed our intentions. We were also able to win several competitions, including the "ICT-Innovative" startup competition in 2014. The feedback from the experienced jury members helped us optimize our business plan and motivated the entire team to push even harder.
Who supported you particularly in the beginning?
At the beginning we received a lot of support from Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) , an affiliated institute of the Munich University of Applied Sciences. I presented my startup idea there and was able to convince the startup consultants. We were then accepted into the SCE's support program and were given our own office. We also received a lot of help and advice on all aspects of starting a business, allowing us to fully focus on our product development and growth. This really helped us a lot!

What is special about the Munich startup scene?
As a media city, Munich is ideal for us as an IT company. The startup scene here is getting bigger and bigger. This way, you can network with other founders and companies in the industry at any time, support each other, and even hit the Munich beer gardens.
In addition, many of our potential customers are located in and around Munich, which naturally helps us with development and also facilitates sales. Furthermore, Munich is home to many entrepreneurial enthusiasts and excellent employees.
What advice do you give to other founders?
Represents a good and interdisciplinary team together! The most important thing is to get people on board from the beginning who are motivated and want to make a difference.
In addition, you should start product development as early as possible get in touch with potential customers and gather feedback. This way, you avoid wasting unnecessary resources on incorrect and unimportant features.
And where do you want adnymics to go in the next few years?
Since its founding at the end of 2014, our team has grown to 14 employees, we have been able to win several customers and convince investors (such as Munich Startup reported). We plan to continue our strong growth and further develop our products next year. Over the next two years, we aim to become one of the largest digital printing companies in the DACH region with the circulation of our customized package inserts.
