The decision has been made: Onpage.org is the winner of Startup Bavaria, the cross-media startup format of the young BR program PULS, and thus the "next big thing from Bavaria." However, the jury nevertheless awarded the prize to one of the younger competitors: the team behind the smartphone app nate is allowed to travel to a major trade fair in the USA.
For four months, six Bavarian startups were supported by experienced business coaches. On December 11, 2015, WERK1 The following jury selected the winner: the Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs Ilse Aigner, Nikolaus Röttger, editor-in-chief of the tech magazine WIRED Germany, and Oliver Bücken from UnternehmerTUM, the start-up center of the Technical University of Munich.

The winners of the season
According to the jury, Onpage.org has performed the best in the last four months. The team is now also internationally successful – far beyond the borders of Bavaria. Onpage.org and its founders Andreas Bruckschlögl, Marcus Tandler, and Jan Hendrik Merlin Jacob have developed analysis software that makes it easier to find errors and optimize websites.
A coveted prize was offered to the winner of the season: a trip to Austin, Texas to the fair South by Southwest Interactive, one of the largest and most important events in the media and creative industries. This is where companies and creators meet investors and a large international audience.
Funding for the second best
Although Onpage.org was chosen as the winner, another startup that, unlike the winner, could still use some support will be allowed to take the trip: nate. The jury's experts agreed on this after a lengthy debate.
"We were very impressed by what the two founders of nate have achieved—from an idea in their head to the Android Play Store in four months. That's why we decided to support this young team as well.", said WIRED boss Nikolaus Röttger on the evening of the final.
The makers of Onpage.org are satisfied with the verdict:
"We didn't expect to win at all and we think the decision to send Nate to Texas is a great solution.", says Andreas Bruckschlögl from Onpage.org.
nate is a smartphone app that allows you to make donations without spending any money. Users allow advertising on their smartphone's home screen, and a portion of the advertising revenue is then donated to a charity of the user's choice. The inventors, Lukas Fellhauer and Hubert Eiter, have quickly succeeded in securing organizations such as WWF, UN Refugee Aid, and Sternstunden as cooperation partners. From March 11 to 19, 2016, at the invitation of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and PULS, the two founders now have the opportunity to present their app in the USA, network, and position themselves internationally as a young startup.
