Bavarian digital bonus continues

With the Digital Bonus, the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs promotes investments in digital technology, for example, to convert analog business models or digitize operational processes. This benefit has now been extended until 2023.

The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs is extending the digital bonus for another three years until 2023. €60 million per year will flow to Bavarian companies. Hubert Aiwanger says:

"Every euro invested supports the digital transformation of Bavaria's companies. This is paying off: The 190 million euros applied for so far have spurred investments of almost 600 million euros. 18,000 applications in four years demonstrate how well the program is being received."

Processing of the digital bonus is to be fully digitalized next year

With 85 percent of all decisions, the lion’s share of the Financial support to small businesses with up to 49 employees. Aiwanger says:

"Almost two-thirds of the funding was applied for by companies in rural areas, and more than one-third by companies in regions with a particular need for action. Digitalization cannot be a question of location. We are therefore bringing digital transformation to all regions and all sectors. To ensure that applications are processed and approved quickly, we are also providing additional staff to the district governments."

The Processing of the digital bonus is itself largely digitized and serves as a blueprint for the digitization of other funding programs. Starting next year, electronic signatures will be available for applications using the Elster business account. This would make the Digital Bonus one of the first fully digitized funding programs in Germany.
