Scaleup4Europe begins first tender

The first call for proposals for the Horizon 2020 program Scaleup4Europe is open. Scaleups with a focus on Smart Regions, Health Science, or Agile Manufacturing are eligible to apply. The first application deadline is January 31.

The goal of Scaleup4Europe is the Establishment of four cross-border Scaleup Labs in the areas of Smart Region, Health Science, Agile Manufacturing, and Agtech. The individual labs are based on the "Living Lab" concept and support qualified scaleups in achieving proof of scalability. The individual programs naturally differ according to their focus.

Smart Region

For the Smart Region Lab Scaleup4Europe is looking for startups in the areas of Mobility & Logistics, Construction & Building, Energy, Geodata Services, and Environment / Sustainability. The team should consist of at least four people and have a market-ready product that can be scaled internationally.

During the three-month program, participants will gain access to a network of mentors, international institutions, business experts, and potential customers and investors from the German and European economy. They will also have access to office space at ATLAS in Munich's Werksviertel district or, starting in April, in the then-completed Munich Urban Colab relate.

The application deadline for the Smart Region category is January 31, with the selection pitches scheduled for February 16. Here go directly to the application.

Health Science

The Health Lab aims to support startups and scaleups with digital health solutions in two ways. With the Readiness Service, 20 selected young companies receive an assessment and coaching with the goal of identifying and closing scaling gaps. The Health Lab also offers a Corporate Collaboration Program for 10 selected startups and scaleups. This program aims to work with corporate partners to find solutions for one of three predefined problems: smarter living with cardiovascular disease, predicting medical care during a pandemic, and simplified collective tendering for hospital care.

To participate in this program, a startup must be at least one year old and have launched its service or product on the market. It must also have at least €100,000 in revenue.

The application deadline for the Health Sciences program is February 12; no selection pitches are planned. Click here to apply directly.

Agile Manufacturing

In the area Agile Manufacturing Scaleup4Europe is looking for scaleups offering technology solutions for Industry 4.0, specifically focusing on automation, simulation, data analytics, sensor technologies, and manufacturing. The program includes the opportunity to present to representatives of German industry at a pitch day, as well as preparation for the event, and a mentorship program. Furthermore, participants will receive continued support after the program ends under the motto "Test before Invest."

Any startup in the field that can demonstrate the functionality of its solution and is looking for investors or partners for pilot projects or development collaborations can apply.

The application deadline for the Agile Manufacturing area is February 10; no selection pitches are planned. Here go directly to the application.
