The Creative Hub's first users come from the fields of design, architecture, software/games, books, press, music, film, and illustration. Creative professionals can rent the building for periods of six to 24 months. The Culture and Creative Industries Competence Team is implementing the project in collaboration with the Referat für Arbeit und Wirtschaft and the Department of Municipal Affairs of the City of Munich.
The Ruffinihaus – Creative Hub is designed to support creative professionals with spaces in a prime downtown location to help them take their next entrepreneurial steps. The Culture and Creative Industries Competence Team and other stakeholders offer consultations. By inviting companies from other industries and organizations from other social sectors to the Creative Hub, networking is also encouraged. Participants help shape the offering. For example, a participating startup will set up a small podcast studio that can be used by everyone.
Creative Hub a “place for collaborative cultural and creative work”
"Especially now, companies need new perspectives and impulses, as well as new points of contact with potential cooperation partners, from which orders can also arise. They find this at the Ruffinihaus – Creative Hub,"
says Clemens Baumgärtner, Advisor for Labor and Economic Affairs.
"The content design and support by the city's competence team ensures a high level of professional quality and underlines how important the project is for the city. The cultural and creative industries will have a special, new space here in the newly renovated Ruffinihaus and will provide much-needed impetus to the city center."
Project Manager Christina Schepper-Bonnet from the Competence team says:
"We now have a place for collaborative cultural and creative industries in the heart of the city center. A diverse space of opportunity for both the individual actors and companies in the hub and for externally generated economic and social innovation needs, for which relevant answers can be found through equal collaboration."
