Talentcube acquired by US company Phenom

The Philadelphia-based HR tech company Phenom has acquired Talentcube. The Munich-based video recruiting startup thus becomes the company's sixth international office.

With the acquisition of Talentcube, Phenom aims to expand its integration of video into the hiring process. Talentcube is the third company Phenom has acquired in the last five months.

Since its founding five years ago, Talentcube has grown into a leading video recruiting platform with over 120 clients. According to the company, candidates from over 84 countries applied via video last year using the software's desktop and mobile versions. Even those with slow mobile data speeds can apply via Talentcube. Carsten Maschmeyer has 2017 in the startup show 'The Lion's Den' 400,000 euros in the Munich companies invested and received one third of the shares in return.

Talentcube relies on “Phenom’s global reach”

“Phenom understands the great importance that video recruiting will play in the HR world in the future,”

says Sebastian Niewöhner, Co-founder and CEO of Talentcube.

"From the beginning, we were confident that Phenom would help us integrate video recruiting into the entire talent journey. Phenom's global reach will establish our solutions in communities and companies where they can have the greatest impact."

During the pandemic, video technologies have been increasingly used by HR departments, says Mahe Bayireddi, Co-founder and CEO of Phenom:

"Talentcube's video recruiting platform builds mutual trust throughout the entire application process. Companies can communicate their mission through their employees' own voices, while job seekers can present their application in a context that's relevant to recruiters and hiring managers. Stories resonate more when we tell them face-to-face. Our acquisition of Talentcube will contribute to a better understanding between companies and candidates."
