The company was founded in 2020 by Jens Nörtershäuser, Thilo Kleinschmidt, Nikolay Dimolarov, and Kurt Miller. Its self-declared goal is to improve men's healthcare through digital solutions. Men's life expectancy is currently up to six years lower than women's. Reasons for this include lifestyle, a lack of preventative care, and prevention. Men lack health awareness, according to the startup.

The Munich-based company aims to change this with easily accessible digital offerings. The first offering being developed is a digital therapy for erectile dysfunction in the form of an app reimbursed by health insurance companies. This condition is closely linked to serious cardiovascular diseases such as heart attacks. This approach also aims to reduce risk factors for these diseases. Kurt Miller, Chief Medical Officer at Kranus Health, says:
